Post 16 Work Experience
Post 16 have been learning new skills and helping our local community every Monday with the expert guidance from the guys at Belfast City Council.
They have really helped make a difference to our public places, including the City Cemetery, Falls Park and Half Moon Lake.
Tasks have included planting wild flowers, graffiti removal, building a base for a pizza oven, constructing willow hurdles, habitat restoration, planting thorn hedge, clearing 5 ton of wood chip to landscape an outdoor classroom and learning how to chop wood safely.
Many thanks to Micky Colbert, Micky McCorry and all the team at Belfast City Council's Parks Department for the opportunity to improve our environment and the excellent tuition provided.
Reward Time!
A well deserved chance to try a new sporting pursuit for our hard working post 16 boys.
As a reward for all their brilliant work & effort they were off to the Belfast Activity Centre to try their hand at canoeing the Lagan rapids.
Thanks again to the Parks Dept. for organising this great day out.
