Seesaw is a multimedia journal designed to enhance communication between teachers, students, and parents.

Seesaw serves as an efficient platform for sharing important information about your child’s learning and progress, including photos and videos that showcase their achievements in school. It also facilitates direct communication between teachers and parents, allowing for meaningful conversations about your child’s development and any concerns that may arise. In addition to celebrating individual milestones, we use Seesaw to keep families informed about important dates in the school calendar and to direct parents to external agencies for additional support when needed.

Each child has a unique Seesaw account, which allows us to upload letters, reminders, and other essential information that families need to stay connected. Parents can receive updates through automatic notifications on the iOS or Android app, via text message, or through email, ensuring that you are always informed about your child’s educational journey.

If you have more than one child at St Gerard’s, you may see duplicate posts. This is because the information communicated on the Seesaw account is sent to all children across the school. Often the information will be the same but occasionally there will be class specific information. This is one small draw back, but as the service is free, we feel it is a small price to pay.

If you are experiencing difficulties using Seesaw, please speak to your child’s class teacher who may be able to help or could direct you to our IT technician.

Yes, please use Seesaw as a way of communicating with your child’s class teacher.  This is a fantastic way for parents and teachers to work in unison to support our learners.  It enables home and school to pass on vital information that can be used to support pupils during their school day

Please note that teachers, like all other professions, have contractual working hours, which means they may only reply to messages during the school day.
