Key stage five

As Head of Post 16, the word that resonates most with me is empowering. At this stage, our focus is on equipping our young people with the skills and confidence they need to lead full, independent adult lives.

Post 16 is a time for growth, exploration, and preparation for the future, where life skills take centre stage.

Each pupil follows an individualised pathway tailored to their unique needs. Our engaging curriculum still prioritizes core skills such as numeracy, literacy, and ICT, but we go far beyond the classroom. Pupils have the opportunity to explore exciting vocational options and work experiences, such as:

  • Sound Production
  • Nail Technician Courses
  • Horticulture

We also collaborate closely with external partners like the Careers Service, Marion Centre, and USEL to provide courses and opportunities beyond our current offerings. Partnerships with organizations such as Barclays Bank ensure that pupils gain practical insights and skills for life after school, paving the way for meaningful employment and independence.
